On Thursday September 26, 2013 we celebrated the European International Day of Languages here at AMAZON. All students participated in the event and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The presentation started with all students writing European International Day of Languages on the board. We are very fortunate to have an international student body here at AMAZON, which means our boards were covered with many languages! Russian, Serbian, German, Spanish, Swedish, Hebrew, Albanian, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and Italian just to name a few!
Students also listened to a track with people saying “Hello” in many different languages and listed which ones they heard. Finally, the students studied different Palindromes as well as Tongue Twisters in English and several other European Languages.
Through this day our students have become more aware of the benefits of bilingualism as well as the connection it makes between people from other countries.
Celebrating cultural diversity is a way to remind us all that we live in a very colorful and exciting world!
